The Story Behind Safaya
Founder’s Story
Yahya El Ghoniemy is the founder and visionary behind Safaya Group.
In 2021, he made a bold decision to relocate to Zanzibar and start building from the ground up.
With a strong entrepreneurial mindset and a clear vision,
he launched his first boutique hospitality project,
laying the foundation of what would later grow into Safaya Group.
Safaya is the vision of Yahya Elghonemy, an Egyptian entrepreneur who chose to build his journey far from the traditional path.
In 2021, Yahya made a bold move — relocating to Zanzibar with a clear goal: to build something from the ground up. With limited resources but a strong entrepreneurial mindset, he launched his first boutique hotel, marking the beginning of what would later become Safaya.
Rather than following conventional hospitality models, Yahya focused on understanding what modern travelers truly seek — privacy, uniqueness, and memorable experiences.
This vision led him to shift from standard hotel rooms to private luxury villas, where every detail is designed to create a deeper emotional connection with guests.
Through hands-on execution, continuous learning, and a strong eye for opportunity, Yahya transformed a small starting point into a growing hospitality and experience-driven group.
